Meet Sydney Cook

Sydney is a 20-year old autistic woman, artist and disability advocate from San Diego, CA . Her primary art medium is digital drawing and composition. She creates novel pieces that often combine both illustrative and photographic elements.

She also likes to add inspiring and thought-provoking text to her compositions. These short phrases, such as “growth is a mindset” or “life is a gift” are reminders that have helped her when struggling with her mental health, so she wants to send these messages out into the world to hopefully help someone else as well. In addition to digital design, she also does pyrography (branding designs into wood with a hot metal instrument) on occasion.

When she is not creating art, Sydney can be found volunteering for disability advocacy organizations and working her “day job” at a dog daycare and boarding facility. (Best day job ever!)
